Cycling-Del Toro claims stage 17 win and extends Giro lead
Giro d'Italia Stage 17: Del Toro Roars to Victory!
Yo geng! While we're usually glued to MotoGP or local kapchai races, let's check out some cycling action. Isaac Del Toro from UAE Team Emirates-XRG just proved he's got serious stamina, bagging the Stage 17 win at the Giro d'Italia! And get this, he's extending his lead overall. Power betul!

This stage wasn't a jalan-jalan santai. The 155km route from San Michele all'Adige to Bormio featured two gnarly climbs – Passo del Tonale and Passo del Mortirolo – with a total elevation gain of 3,800 meters. Mau pengsan!
But Del Toro, with legs fresh macam baru keluar kedai tayar, unleashed a killer sprint in the final stretch, leaving Romain Bardet and Richard Carapaz eating his dust. Confirm lepas ni kena tapau nasi lemak!
"I imagined that I could win a stage with the maglia rosa. The Giro has been very good so far," Del Toro said. "I will always try to win. I have nothing to lose."
This win puts Del Toro in a sweet spot, leading the general classification by 41 seconds. Carapaz is hot on his heels, though, so the competition is definitely on!
Drama on Two Wheels
Not everyone had a smooth ride. Jay Vine (UAE Team Emirates–XRG) and Luke Plapp (Jayco AlUla) both had to abandon the Giro. Padahal baru nak start!
What's Next?
Stage 18 is coming up, a relatively flat 144km sprint from Morbegno to Cesano Maderno. Should be a good chance for the sprinters to flex their muscles before the next mountain stage.
So, while we might be more familiar with roaring engines, let's give respect to these cyclists pushing their limits!
