Modenas Z15GT: The Local Supermoped is Here!

Malaysian riders, get ready! Modenas has unleashed its first 100% Malaysian-developed supermoped, the Z15GT! This 149.5cc beast is aiming to make a splash with a competitive price tag and some serious features.

With an RM8,288 price tag, the Z15GT is hitting showrooms at Modenas and Kawasaki dealerships starting today (Oct 27, 2025). Let's dive into what makes this supermoped tick.

Key Features & Specs

The Z15GT boasts a 12.5kW engine, perfect for navigating city streets and weekend getaways. No need to worry about fuel stops either, thanks to a 5.7-liter tank. Plus, it comes standard with ABS braking for added safety, a smart key system for convenience, and a built-in power socket to charge your gadgets on the go!

Roslan Roskan, Modenas CEO, believes the competitive price makes it an attractive option for Malaysian riders, especially those looking to upgrade from smaller bikes. "We are also looking to penetrate the segment below 150cc to attract more riders to switch to our motorcycles," he stated.

Sales Targets and Export Plans

Modenas is setting ambitious goals, aiming to sell 5,000 units by the end of the year and a whopping 27,000 units annually!

The company also plans to export the Z15GT to countries like the Philippines, Greece, Turkiye, and Cambodia between 2026 and 2030, showcasing Malaysian engineering on the international stage.

Developed by a team of 31 Malaysian engineers, designers, and technicians, the Z15GT proudly carries a 78% localization rate, supporting the National Automotive Policy 2020 and the New Industrial Master Plan 2030. This means more jobs and a boost for the local automotive industry!
