2026 BMW Motorrad F450 GS in Malaysia, RM40,000
2026 BMW Motorrad F450 GS Debuts in Malaysia: Adventure for RM40,000!
Gempak! BMW Motorrad just unleashed their latest adventure machine, the 2026 BMW Motorrad F450 GS, onto Malaysian shores, and the price point is sure to turn heads: RM40,000! Available exclusively in the stunning GS Trophy Racing blue metallic, this all-new dual-purpose bike, first seen internationally in 2025, is set to redefine what riders expect from a middleweight ADV.
Bavarian Adventure, Malaysian Price Tag
For a BMW, that RM40,000 sticker price is seriously tempting. The F450 GS is designed for riders who want a versatile bike that handles daily city commutes, offers comfort for long-distance touring, and is capable enough to tackle off-road trails. Itβs stepping into a competitive segment here in Malaysia, going head-to-head with direct rivals like the CFMoto 450MT, the nimble single-cylinder KTM 390 Adventure R, and other popular choices such as the Honda NX500, Brixton Storr 500, and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. BMW Motorrad is clearly aiming for a slice of the growing mid-range adventure market.
Engine & Performance: Smooth Power for Any Ride
At its heart, the F450 GS packs a liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine with a displacement of 420 cc. This powerhouse churns out a respectable 48 hp at 8,750 rpm and a peak torque of 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a smooth six-speed gearbox, but hereβs where it gets interesting: it comes equipped with BMW Motorradβs innovative Easy Ride Clutch (ERC).
The Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) is a game-changer! This centrifugal clutch system completely removes the need to manually operate the clutch lever. Whether youβre setting off from a standstill, shifting gears, or performing tricky off-road maneuvers, the ERC handles the clutch for you, making your ride incredibly smooth and less tiring, especially in traffic or technical terrain.
Ergonomics & Customisation for Every Rider
BMW Motorrad understands that comfort is key for adventure riding, and the F450 GS offers excellent ergonomics from the get-go. Standard features include off-road footpegs and a Sport windshield. The two-piece seat places the rider at a comfortable 845 mm from the ground. But if you need more customisation, youβre covered:
- An 830 mm low seat is available for shorter riders.
- A higher 865 mm Rally seat caters to those who prefer more ground clearance or aggressive off-road stances.
- The right foot brake lever is vertically adjustable by 20 mm.
- The gearshift lever height can be adjusted via a toothed mechanism.
- Adjustable handlebar levers and optional 20 mm handlebar risers further fine-tune the riding position.
Tipping the scales at a ready-to-roll weight of 178 kg (with 14 litres of fuel), the F450 GS is impressively light for an adventure bike, promising agile handling both on and off the tarmac.
Advanced Electronics & Safety Features
As expected from BMW, the F450 GS comes with a comprehensive suite of electronic riding aids to keep you safe and confident:
- ABS Pro: Cornering-optimised Anti-lock Braking System.
- DBC (Dynamic Brake Control): Assists with braking force in critical situations.
- Dynamic Traction Control (DTC): Prevents rear wheel spin for optimal grip.
- MSR (Engine Drag Torque Control): Prevents rear wheel lock-up during aggressive downshifts.
The bike also offers four distinct riding modes: Rain, Road, Enduro, and Enduro Pro. The Enduro Pro mode is specifically designed for serious off-road enthusiasts, allowing for the use of off-road tyres with wheelie control and rear wheel ABS switched off, giving you maximum control on dirt trails.
Ride & Handling: Ready for the Rough and Smooth
For suspension, the F450 GS features quality components from KYB. Upfront, you get a 43 mm upside-down telescopic fork, adjustable for both rebound and compression, ensuring a plush yet controlled ride. At the rear, a KYB monoshock, adjustable for preload and rebound, takes care of bumps. Both ends offer a generous 180 mm of suspension travel, ready to soak up whatever Malaysian roads (or trails) throw at it.
Braking power is handled by Brembo, with a floating single-disc brake paired with a four-piston caliper and a 310 mm disc upfront. The rear features a single disc brake with a single-piston floating caliper and a 240 mm disc, providing strong and reliable stopping performance. The F450 GS rolls on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, fitted with 100/90 front and 130/80 rear tyres. For serious off-roaders, spoked wheels are available as an optional accessory from the official BMW Motorrad catalogue.
Stay Connected
Information is clearly displayed on a large 6.5-inch TFT display, easily navigable with a multi-controller on the left handlebar. Plus, a convenient USB-C charging socket is located in the handlebar area, perfect for keeping your gadgets juiced up on longer rides.
