Continental tyres introduces the TKC 80 2nd generation dual-purpose tyre, in Malaysia Q1 2026
Continental TKC 80Β²: The Next-Gen Dual-Purpose Tyre Arrives in Malaysia Q1 2026!
Hey Malaysian bikers! Ready for the next level of adventure? Continental is launching the TKC 80Β², the successor to the legendary TKC 80 dual-purpose tyre, here in Q1 2026! This tyre is designed for travel enduros and adventure bikes, perfect for tackling both tarmac and trails.
What's New with the TKC 80Β²?
Continental has taken the iconic TKC 80 and given it a serious upgrade. Here's what you can expect:
- Larger Tread Blocks: 70% bigger footprint for improved stability and grip on the road.
- Optimized Block Geometry: Better mechanical grip on loose surfaces, so you can conquer mud and snow with ease (yes, even in Genting!).
- Self-Cleaning: Improved design to keep the tread clear, even in the stickiest situations.
Grip Where You Need It
The front tyre's tread blocks are angled to improve braking grip off-road, giving you more confidence when things get rough. The rear tyre is designed for maximum traction during acceleration. Perfect for those Ulu Yam climbs!
Built for Comfort and Durability
This is a true 50-50 tyre that performs well even when your bike is fully loaded. The carcass design also increases riding comfort, and the new rubber compound offers a great balance between grip and wear resistance. Meaning more mileage during your cross-country trips.
"The tire tread combines maximum flexibility for safe wet grip with high block stiffness for stability and mechanical grip," said Raphael Michels, Product Manager for Motorcycle Tires at Continental.
Sizes and Availability
The TKC 80Β² will be available in four front tyre widths (19 and 21 inches) and six rear sizes (17 and 18 inch wheels), fitting most modern enduro and adventure-touring bikes. Look out for it in Malaysia in Q1 2026! Pricing is still TBD, so stay tuned for updates.
